Men's ministry
Built Together
Reaching Men, Walking With Them Toward Jesus, and Running a Men’s Ministry That Lasts
Look around your church on a Sunday morning and count the men. Then think about the men who aren't there.
Built Together is a practical guide to reaching men, walking with them toward Jesus, and building a men's ministry that keeps doing it year after year. It's written for the pastor who knows his men need more than a sermon once a week, for the man who has been asked to lead the men's ministry, and for the ordinary guy who just wants to help another man follow Jesus.
Part One looks at the men who are missing, how Jesus built men, and what men really need. Part Two lays out the Workshop Path, a simple way of walking with one man through five stations: Open the Door, Know His Name, Ground Him in Christ, Build Him Up, and Send Him Out, with a chapter on what to do when a man is hurting. Part Three is the practical side: getting the pastor and a few good men on board, putting your plan on one page, laying out the year, running events that lead somewhere, and building groups that last without burning anyone out.
Every chapter ends with Talk It Over, six questions for a core team, a small group or a man reading on his own, and Try This Week, one concrete step to take before the next chapter. At the back you'll find working tools: a one-page plan, a Name List layout, a Health Check, a follow-up call guide, an event checklist, a group leader checklist, and an agenda for your first core team meeting. Churches that buy the book may copy them for their own ministry.
